Owners and account
The owners manage the church’s account: billing, the other owners, the church network, support access and deleting the account. Whoever creates the church is its first owner. A church can have several owners, and it always has at least one.
An owner is also a member of the church, with their record, their rung and their place in the tree.
Add an owner
Section titled “Add an owner”In Account › Ownership, select Add owner and, under Who are you adding?, choose:
- Existing member: choose an active member. If they already have an account, select Promote to owner and they become an owner right away; if not, select Send invitation and they receive it by email. A member with no account and no email can’t be chosen: add their email from their record first.
- External person: enter the email of someone who isn’t a member yet and select Send invitation.
The owner invitation is valid for 7 days, and when someone who was already a member accepts it, they keep their record.
Pending invitations appear under Pending invitations, where you can Resend them or Cancel invitation. A pending invitation reserves a spot in your plan’s member limit.
If an invitation doesn’t reach its address, it stays pending (and keeps its spot) and shows as Bounced, with the reason and the date. The owners get a notice in the bell, without the address, and View owners opens this screen. If the address doesn’t exist or doesn’t receive email, Resend doesn’t appear, because no resend would reach it: select Cancel invitation and invite the person at another address. If the send failed, the address may be right: use Resend. Like any invitation’s, its bounce counts toward pausing your church’s invitations, as App invitations explains.
Step down as owner
Section titled “Step down as owner”Step down makes you a member like everyone else again, with whatever roles you have. Inperia asks you to confirm your identity. If you’re the only owner, appoint another one first.
To transfer ownership, promote the other person and then step down.
Delete the church’s account
Section titled “Delete the church’s account”Delete account closes the church on the spot: nobody can get back in, and its ties with child churches and coverage are broken. After 30 days the church, its members and its settings are permanently erased.
That same day, the Inperia accounts of everyone who doesn’t belong to another church are deleted too, yours included. When you delete the account, each person gets an email with the date and can keep theirs by creating a church or joining another one before that day. Anyone with a pending invitation or an open request to join another church keeps their account while it’s pending. Afterwards, anyone can sign up again with the same email.
-
If the church has a paid plan, cancel it first in Billing. If you started a payment without finishing it, complete it or wait for it to expire.
-
In Account › Ownership, open the Danger zone tab and select Delete account.
-
Type the word shown (or copy it with the button beside it and paste it) and confirm your identity: your password and, if you have it turned on, your two-factor authentication code. If you only sign in with Google, Inperia asks for that code or, if you don’t use it, for one it emails you.
If the church has several owners, all of them have to approve the deletion; if just one rejects it, it’s cancelled. Any paid time left on the plan is lost and isn’t refunded.
