Family and marriage
The Family section of the record keeps each person’s ties to other members or to contacts: who their parents, children and spouse are. That way, when you open a record you see their family at a glance.
Add a family tie
Section titled “Add a family tie”-
Open the person’s record and select Edit, or do it when you add them with New member.

In the Family section, choose the other person (a member or a contact) and the Relationship type.

Save the changes.
The available relationships are: father, mother, son or daughter, brother or sister, spouse, partner, uncle or aunt, nephew or niece, cousin, grandfather or grandmother, grandson or granddaughter, stepfather or stepmother, and stepson or stepdaughter.
For father, mother and son or daughter relationships you can set the Bond type: Biological, Adoptive or Guardian. For spouse, partner, stepfather or stepmother and stepson or stepdaughter relationships you can enter the Start date and the End date.
Each pair of people has a single relationship, and no one can be linked to themselves.
Confirm a marriage
Section titled “Confirm a marriage”A spouse relationship entered on the record stays Not confirmed until both people confirm it in the app. For that, both need to be active members with an account in the church.

One of them opens My profile › Marriage.

They search for their spouse among the members who have an account and select Send request. If the marriage is already on their record, Ask to confirm is enough.

The other person gets a notification in the app and replies with Confirm or Decline.
While waiting, whoever asked for the confirmation can Withdraw request. A confirmed marriage can be ended with Unlink from the same screen.
If the other person declines the request, you have to wait 24 hours before asking again. Only each person can request, confirm or unlink their own marriage: it can’t be done from a support session.
