Set up your church

The first time you enter the app, Inperia opens the Set up your church wizard. This happens after you verify your email and sign in, or when you create your account with Google. In six steps, the wizard creates your church’s account and makes you its owner: the person who manages the account, billing and permissions.

The Set up your church wizard on the Identity step, with the Primary language, Church name, Denomination and Founding date fields
  1. Identity. The Primary language, the Church name (required), the Denomination and the Founding date. The language is the church’s and yours too, and it starts as the screen’s: if you pick another, the wizard switches to it right away and your account keeps it.

  2. Contact. The Official email and the Main phone, both required. The official email identifies your church across Inperia: no other church can use it.

  3. Location. Address, Country, State / Province and City (required) and the Postal code. As you type the address, Suggested addresses appear: choosing one fills in the city, the state or province and the postal code, and places your church on the map, which you can check later in My church. If it doesn’t find the address, you fill in the other fields by hand. Among other things, the country determines the ID document types you’ll see on people’s records.

  4. Regional. The church’s Timezone.

  5. Your role. Choose Your rung in the church: Pastor, Leader or Disciple. If you choose Pastor, you head the leadership tree and everyone else is added below you. If you choose another rung, you stay outside the tree until you invite your pastor and place yourself below them.

  6. Confirmation. Review the details and select Create church.

Everything you enter in the wizard can be changed later from Account › My church: Church details explains how.

When the church is created, Inperia sets up what you need to start working that same day:

  • The Growth Ladder, with three rungs: Pastor, Leader and Disciple. Pastor and Leader can have people in their care; Disciple, by default, can’t. You can rename them, add others and change their order: Configure the rungs.
  • Three access roles, Pastor, Leader and Disciple, which decide what each person sees and does in the app. Disciple is the role new people receive. Roles and permissions explains them.
  • Your member record, active, with the rung and role you chose.
  • Six tags: Children, Teenagers, Youth, Adults, Seniors and Baptized.
  • Your country’s document types, for each person’s record.
  • Every section of the app, ready to use: Contacts, Meetings, Follow-ups, Cell groups, Care and Maps. On the Starter Plan, Cell groups includes up to 2 cell groups; from the Growth Plan up, as many as you need. Reports and Courses are included from the Growth Plan up: on the Starter Plan they show a lock.
  • The Starter Plan, free and with no time limit. When you need to, you change plans from Plans and billing.

The first time you sign in, Inperia welcomes you with the Take the tour option, which shows you where everything is in a minute. You can choose Not now and pick it up later from your account menu, or Stop showing tours. If you’d rather read, Open the Help Center guides brings you here.

Then, at the top of the Dashboard, Your church’s first steps are waiting: review the rungs, decide what each role sees and does, and bring in your congregation. Each step takes you to the screen where it’s done, and checks itself off once you do it.

Each screen also has its own tour, behind the ? button next to the title. The next step is to get to know the dashboard.
