Visitors' QR
With the Visitors’ QR, someone who comes to a meeting scans a code with their phone, leaves their name and phone number, and becomes a contact, marked present. It’s useful at meetings with many visitors, where nobody can keep up with writing them all down. It’s also available in a cell group’s encounters.
Show the QR
Section titled “Show the QR”-
Open the meeting. In its panel, select Visitors’ QR. It’s also on the attendance list, next to the title.
-
Under In the care of, choose who will follow up with the visitors: anyone in the church who leads others. If you don’t choose anyone, they’re in the care of whoever leads the meeting, or in your care.
-
Select New QR.
-
Show it on a screen or print it. Download QR code saves the image; Copy link or Share gives you the address to send in a message.
Each meeting has a single QR.
When it takes registrations
Section titled “When it takes registrations”The QR takes registrations while the attendance list is open: by default, from 30 minutes before the start until 24 hours after the end, or within the window your church sets in Notices and deadlines. The panel shows its status:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Taking visitors | Whoever scans it now registers and is marked present. |
| Not open yet | It starts taking registrations when the list opens. |
| Closed | The list has already closed, or the meeting was cancelled. |
| Full | It has already taken the 300 registrations a QR allows. |
| Turned off | Nobody can register with it. |
| Nobody in charge | The person who was receiving the visitors is no longer active. Choose someone else. |
Under Registrations you see how many people have registered.
What the visitor sees
Section titled “What the visitor sees”When they scan it, the visitor opens a page from your church, in the church’s language, which they can change. They don’t need an account or a password.
- They see We are glad you came! and leave their First name, Last name, Phone and Gender. The phone starts with your church’s country code.
- They agree to the church contacting them by phone or WhatsApp.
- They select Send my details and see a thank-you message with their name.
The page always gives the same answer, even if that person was already registered. That way, nobody can use it to find out who’s in your church.
After they register
Section titled “After they register”- Each visitor becomes a contact, with their consent saved, and is marked present at the meeting.
- If a contact with the same phone and the same full name already existed, that record is used instead of creating another one.
- They’re in the care of the person chosen under In the care of, who finds them in Contacts to follow up with them. If they already had a record, it stays with whoever already had them in their care. From the Growth Plan, if nobody contacts them in time, they show up in Care as Visitor not contacted.
- The contacts the QR adds count toward your plan’s contact limit. If there’s no room left, the page says the meeting isn’t taking registrations.
- A registration through the QR doesn’t count as the attendance being taken: the list is still taken by whoever always takes it.
Change who’s in charge or turn it off
Section titled “Change who’s in charge or turn it off”- Change puts the visitors in someone else’s care from that moment on.
- Turn off stops the QR from taking registrations. It asks you to confirm.
- Turn on opens it again with a new code: the one you printed stops working.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”Whoever takes attendance for that meeting shows it. To create it, change who’s in charge or turn it on again, you also need the Create contacts permission in your own church: access from another church can’t do it. The QR is available on every plan.
